Many of you have noticed that Black Throb has gone offline. The message on their site confirms that it is shut down until further notice, with no timeline for return.
I’m a software developer and keep fiddling with ideas for an alternative but the security stuff is a challenge. I’d really rather push the security o to the client, let the users own their data. But then it’s always possible to have users manipulate it. I’m not a back end engineer either. And what’s the minimum functionality users will accept? I have a job and responsibilities etc. And this of course is ESPECIALLY in need of privacy protection.
Do we know what precipitated the shutdown? I never went to the site.
